The Chelsea Development is an urban mixed-use project in the Classen 10 Penn neighborhood. This project features a mix of residential, retail, and commercial uses, while fitting into the urban context. This project features a two- and four-story building with a partially underground parking storage. Fitting this project into the context of the neighborhood was important to the client and the residents of the surrounding community. To make it fit, we stepped down the building height of the south building, added protections for uses, and increased screening. Design and layout were critical for this project because of its high visibility from Classen Boulevard. This project will bring residents and retail back to a street, and a corner, that has been vacant for decades. This project is the perfect representation for the resurgence of the Classen 10 Penn neighborhood.
