Page Woodson

Johnson & Associates is currently involved in the master planning of the historic Page Woodson School and its surrounds, located at 600 N High Street. The property, the site of the first school for African Americans in the Oklahoma City area, is approximately 9.19 acres. The property is proposed to accommodate a mixed-use development consisting primarily of multi-family residential with limited low-impact retail and neighborhood-related uses compatible with the proposed community and adjacent residential neighborhoods, including the potential for daycare and community multi-purpose areas. The existing school structure will be retrofitted to accommodate potential residential, commercial, community and/or office uses. Accommodation of the proposed uses will be accomplished through the replacing of the existing zoning and the addition of special development regulations. The project is being done through a partnership between a private developer and the Oklahoma City Urban Renewal Authority.
