Johnson & Associates (J&A) announces the recent hire of Emily J. Averyt as Staff Engineer. Ms. Averyt will be responsible for assisting in infrastructure design for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. Emily started with J&A in December 2015 as an engineering intern while she attended the University of Oklahoma. As an intern, she showed promise through detailed design work and the ability to thrive in a team environment. To date, Ms. Averyt’s project involvement includes an infrastructure analysis for Core to Shore, a drainage study for the Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma City, and a complete civil design for the ongoing development of Nichols Hills Plaza, among others. “Over the years we have sought out up-and-coming students in the land development field and hired them as interns. It is important to our company and profession to attract, train, and retain the top young talent coming out of our local universities. Many of the professionals on our current staff have come up through these exact ranks. Emily encompasses all the traits that make a great engineer. We are excited to have her join our team full-time, and look forward to seeing her grow within the field,” said Tim Johnson, founder and managing partner of Johnson & Associates. Ms. Averyt studied at the University of Oklahoma, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering in 2017 and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering in 2018.
