Midfirst Bank & Chesapeake Energy Crosswalks

As part of the Chesapeake Energy’s improvements to N Shartel Avenue, Johnson & Associates designed the metro’s first Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon, also known as a High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK). South of this location, for MidFirst Bank, Johnson & Associates also designed Oklahoma City’s first pedestrian crosswalk with a Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacon (RRFB). Both of these projects increased safety for pedestrians and employees at the given business. As this area has grown significantly in both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, it was important for these businesses to provide the safest possible solution for their employees.
