NW 63rd Street at Atrium Towers

Johnson & Associates was retained by Chesapeake Energy to design a signal for Atrium Towers in the northwest corner of NW 63rd Street & Lake Hefner Parkway in Oklahoma City. Previously this development would hire an off duty police officer to stop traffic on NW 63rd Street, allowing employees to exit during the peak hours of the PM. To resolve this issue, a T-intersection signal was designed & installed, as well as a new entrance to the development, and NW 63rd Street was widened to accommodate left hand turns. This signal required timing and phasing coordination with the adjacent signals at Portland Avenue and Lake Hefner Parkway.
